I talked with one of the owners of Little Horse Books & Vintage, an awesome store in downtown Louisville, about his experience as a small business owner. Here’s the lowdown:
Who: Mike Price, Boulder native and Co-Owner of Little Horse Books & Vintage
What: Little Horse sells books and vintage wares, with an emphasis on 20th century literature, art, poetry, furniture, collectibles, stereos, LPs and more!
When: The downtown Louisville storefront opened in December 2012, though Mike has been selling books since 2002.
Why: Little Horse was the perfect way to combine Mike’s passion for book selling and his growing interest in mid-century furniture. He says one of the greatest benefits of being a small business owner is, “spending time how you want to spend it.” Mike enjoys treasure hunting for the next unique item to display in his store and frequents Lafayette Collectibles and Flea Market.
How: Mike started out selling books on Amazon and opened his first store on Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado in 2005. His retail background and sales experience provided him the know-how to open this location.
Make sure to visit the store on Small Business Saturday!
